D-Day!!!

Today's THE DAY...cos it's Standard Chartered Marathon Day!! Been waiting for this day to run my 21km...woke up early...kind of....5.15am....took 2 bananas, 1 snicker bar and 1 endurance drink to prepare myself for the run...felt so full after all that intake...=)...then DAD fetched me to Esplanade where the starting point is....MAN!!! i was SHOCKED to see so many runners....i din know Singaporeans run....haaaa....i can barely squeeze myself to the front where the starting point is....in fact when the 21km run was flagged off i had to wait like 7min plus plus for the crowd to clear before i got to the starting line and started my run....phew...wat a way to start...but from there it was AWESOME man....got to see loads of stuff besides the scenary...firstly was the un-sightly peeing the guys did at the marina U-TURN point....there was like.... one whole stretch of guys in a horizontal row doing their business admist the bushes IN THE OPEN!!!! Cant imagine singaporeans do that in public where eveyone can see....but then again cant blame them....the toilet queues were SUPER long...talk abt toilet...i din even go to the toilet once for the entire 21km....even though i felt really urgent when i started the race...i thought i could just dispose it by running....haaa....must be the numerous cups of plain water yesterday and endurance drink this morning...so that was the first sight...next sight was completely stunning...left me SPEECHLESS....as i was passing my 10click mark this lady came from behind and overtook me....ok...tts normal...alot of good female runners....but wat happened next was lik....she took off her top after overtaking...i was thinking to myself what just happened....dun even know how to describe it....of cos she had her sports bra on but the whole thing was like out of no where....OUTRAGEOUS...then was the sight of people in strange outfit or people carrying strange stuff...there was this lady dragging some boxand tyre behind her which says ice-lady....then another lady wearing some reindeer hat which had hoofs....wats really encouraging was there were a few other ladies helping the lady who's dragging the box thingy to pull the box so she dun have to carry so much weight while running....then the next sight was this blind guy running with a helper....that kinda thing is like...happens only in movies....haaa...BUT the greatest experience i had while running was i actually managed to worship (in my heart of cos).... and by doing so i felt like the Holy Spirit was running next to me (even though i think it should be floating instead) and it really touched my heart...during the run there was this song that came up on my ipod..."AMAZED"...at that point i was reminded of how much God loves me and how blessed i am to be able to breathe...to walk...to RUN! I recalled what i've been going through the last few months and i thank God for it...i thank God for true friends who guided me through and gave me encouragement when i needed it most...i thank God for bringing new friends into my life...friends who cares for me...ALL of that gave me strength and even more determination to run my race....so i ran and ran and finally completed my run....i felt rather good after the run....after all its my first half marathon...and im glad i ran it well....so after my run i waited for DINO to finish his 42km (you did really well bro, good job!!) before we both headed to Suntec for Fish & Co...had a good meal and DAD picked me up and sent me home (thank God he was still in the area)...was talking to JOEY on the phone and SHEIKH via sms....they both did the 42km run too....proud of you guys man...good run guys! Now i think for the next few days im gonna have to limp my way here and there!!
